Felipe Ferreira Falcão da Silva replied to Tammy Moore's discussion 'Any Cmap (Collaborative Concept Mapping) Users Here?'
I’m taking the same course as my colleague Bianca and, just like her, I’ve never used Cmaps with my students before; however, while we were doing a task in our online class, I discovered a new useful tool. I must confess that when I was…

I have never used Cmaps with my students, but while I was using it for my online class on Tecnhology in ESL teaching I realized how useful it was. It was a lot clearer to see the main ideas of the text I was summarizing. As a visual person, it was a…

The link to the download is at http://cmap.ihmc.us/download/index.php for the user version of Cmap. Even after many years, I still use my Cmap software regularly. One of our uses is to do project management. We have teams of volunteers working on…

I'm not actually aware of how I can use it! I didn't find the free version! I used one example that I found only.

I just tried signing up... but it's for teachers only in the US? Bit unfair isn't it?

Matthew, that seems like an awesome web project... but I'm deterred from joining because I can't see what you do. Every time I click on something it forces me to the sign-up page... and like many users, I've signed in to so many…

About Me
I teach biology, chemistry, and physics online using Moodle and Elluminate as a volunteer with VHSG. I am also the site's co-admin and train in the new volunteers.

My background is actually in illustration and portraiture in watercolor and pencil. More recently I have been delving in to digital tools and Flash to create course material for my classes.

We're looking into the 1000 version now. I've seen in my research there also applications that will double and read web pages to students as well, an added benefit since there's so much that can accessed via a browser these days.

Hi Tammy:

Thanks! I've very excited about the Moodle initiative. We have many hurdles to overcome but we're pumped nonetheless.

At this point we have the English department and a couple of math and science teachers very keen.

And you can probably expect to be hearing more from me in February as we get things up and running.

Again, many thanks for the offer. I'll be taking you up on the offer!

Just stopping by to let you know that I haven't forgotten. Things have been incredibly busy and should remain the same in May. After that, let's connect. I'd love to hear more then about your program and training for using the tools. Thanks for your patience!
