I bet this has been addressed earlier but I don't see it--- so here goes:

My problem is that I have a teacher whose classzone.com interactive tests don't work well when they're embedded in her Moodle site.. The tests work fine on the Classzone.com site.

Has anyone else noticed this problem?

can anybody help clarify for me what the page styles mean for the moodle page? I see lots of acronyms that don't understand at all...just started using Moodle this year, so I want to experiment...

WIRIS tools include a WYSIWYG formula editor, an online calculator and a math assessment system that enhances Moodle quizzes system.
Check them www.wiris.com/demo-moodle/
Good tools to start (and follow).

Ig you use Microsoft Office a lot and your home page contains the course list without the courses being in categories, you may find this plug in for Office that lets you open, update, and save from inside of MS Office programs directly to Moodle. It is sort of like Moodle becomes a keydrive. It is great because no longer do you need to save it to your local hard drive, open your browser to your Moodle, open the course, open the files, select and upload. Now you can see right in to your Moodle course's file structure immediately without ever leaving Office. It is made my Microsoft.

To watch a few videos about it go to

Math tools in Moodle is my expertise. Our company develops WIRIS tools for math and science education (equation editor, calculator and math quizzes). You can have a look at www.wiris.com/demo-moodle/ Ready to help you on math issues.

I am attempting to "train" them to primarily use the "Add activity/Offline activity" and "Add activity/Advanced Uploading of Files (similar to BlackBoard's dropbox feature) so that, as they are posting, they are creating their Gradebook for later posting of grades. The easy alternative would be for them to Link to word files, but then, no information gets pushed to the Calendar feature or the My Moodle page.

Preferences for grading and gradebooks tend to be highly personal, but I would say yes its worth the trouble. Are you trying to get the actual posts to push to the gradebook, or grades for the posts?

We are rolling out Moodle this year to replace Blackboard. I am frantically trying to get up to speed to lead a faculty training next week. In posting, I am asking faculty to go through the trouble of posting in such a way that their posts will be pushed to the Gradebook. I am hoping the version 1.9 Gradebook will replace other grading software and standardize our reporting of grades. Does anybody know if the 1.9 Gradebook on Moodle is worth all this trouble?
