Thinking through Web 2.0 and Creative Commons

Recently I gave a presentation on Web 2.0 tools to a few teachers as a part of a technology sampler class I led. I've embedded the Prezi presentation below.

What interested me about this presentation wasn't necessarily the content, though. It was what I did with that content after I created it, namely this:

Today I'm beginning a class on social media. I've delivered this professional development workshop before, but always through traditional blogs and focused on them, calling the class 'Blogging 101'. Of the 30 or so teachers that have attended, only a couple have continued the use of their blogs, though all have been positive about the experience and felt it gave them a better understanding of what the web could provide them and their students.

Hi Drew, spam seems to be a real problem with ning at the moment. I dont know how to reduce it, but it might be worth putting up as a discussion. If you are on twitter, follow @ningadvocacy as they help with any problems and might be worth asking them on twitter. Sorry, I cant help much more than this.

Hi D!

Hope you had a nice winter break. I was wondering if you or your students would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. If not, perhaps you have some educator contacts you could direct me to. We'd really like to get students involved from Missouri!

You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
