- About Me
- This year I will be teaching 2nd grade again after 10 years as an Instructional Coach for Wichita Public Schools. I'm very excited to put into practice the things I've learned in all of the training I received as an IC. I have really enjoyed every minute but it's now time to move on. Before my job as IC, I spent 20 years in the classroom teaching kindergarten, first and second graders. I also serve as a Site Technology Specialist for my school with an emphasis on training teachers on new technology and software as it comes into our school. We are fortunate enough to have a Smartboard, Airliner, document camera, and projector in every classroom and in our training room. We also have several sets of clickers, 4 laptop carts and a broadcast studio for closed-curcuit news shows.

When I began teaching in 1980, my students were growing up essentially the same way I had. They had never seen a computer, mobile phones were attached to cars and there were 4 channels on TV, with limited children’s programming. Over the course of my career as a teacher, I have watched changes happen in my students that can only be explained by advancing technology and media.
