Thanks for sharing. It looks like you need to buy a card, correct? Do you know what format the video footage is? I want to make sure it is compatible with Movie Maker. Also, how is the battery life? Does it have special batteries?

I love the Sanyo Xacti CG20. In fact before the FLip was discontinued I chose the Xacti because of the zoom function and the overall form of it. Cheap too.   http://www.amazon.com/Sanyo-VPC-CG20-Definition-Camcorder-Camera/dp/B0036TH80M

I know that the Flip Cameras are no longer being produced but they are still available until the supply runs outs. Amazon has several models still available.

Alternatives to the Flip Video Cameras?

Now that Cisco is discontinuing the Flip Video Cameras, our school distinct is looking for a good alternative. We need something easy to use for students, durable, reasonably priced, decent quality video and audio, and footage is easy to edit in Movie Maker. Anyone have any suggestions?

Good evening, Maricia. The SMART Board resources your district offers are a great teaching tool for educators. Thank you for sharing that.

Hi Marcia,

With your work in Instructional Technology in Wichita, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording you might find of interest.

Good morning, Marcia. I am enjoying my Classroom 2.0 explorations. I just watched a great Elluminate lesson on wikis by Sue Waters. Have a great weekend.

This site has a lot of interesting ideas. I am not sure all of my colleagues are ready for them. I find my self spending too much time on the communicating part and not enough time on the assignment part.
I hope your trip to Washington D.C. and New York was full of experiences - after all isn't that what life is all about - experiences!

Have a great rest of the summer It is closing in fast. I find myself getting excited about all the new little people who are coming my way soon. I wonder if they are as excited as I am.

Shelby
