Board Elections Update

On Monday, April 8, 2011, the CUE Board of Directors took action in order to remain in compliance with the California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law (Section 5227) and keep its 501(c) 3 status.  This action refers to CUE by-law 6.14: "RESTRICTION ON INTERESTED PERSONS AS DIRECTORS. No more than 49 percent of the persons serving on the Board may be interested persons. An interested person is (a) any person compensated by the corporation for services rendered to it within the previous 12 months, whether as a full-time or part-time employee, independent contractor, or otherwise, excluding any reasonable compensation paid to a director as director; and (b) any brother, sister, ancestor, descendant, spouse, brother in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law, or father-in-law of such person."

After seeking legal counsel, the Board added language to the current election policy for this year’s election and all future elections:

"In the event that an election would bring the percentage of 'interested persons' on the CUE Board of Directors over the 49 percent threshold, the lowest vote winner among those who are 'interested persons' will be disqualified.  The next candidate with the most votes, who is not an 'interested person,' is elected to the open seat. "If you have questions regarding this action, please contact Mike Lawrence,  mlawrence@cue.org, Executive Director, or Micheline LeBlanc, leblanc410@gmail.com, CUE BOD President.

Based on the article I wrote in http://bit.ly/yYzgv5

All you need to do is to hook up the printer like you do on to your mac / pc. Then install the software listed below. The only setback for this solution is that you must have both ur mac/pc and the printer on and connected in the same wifi network.

Virtual Reality in Education

Posted on February 11, 2012 at 9:55pm 0 Comments

After researching various types of virtual reality, I do not think that virtual worlds give students a better learning experience than real world experiences. Originally, I believed that virtual reality worlds offered unique experiences for students to experience things they would not otherwise have access to.  Pictures of students taking a virtual tour through the Louvre, participating in historic events, and visiting fictional cities were floating around in my head as I thought of the…

Hi Mike,
I am a Tech/SS teacher in Iowa. I maintain a computer lab of 20 macs with video capabilities. My question is this: Do you know of any teachers that would be interested in having their class video conference with ours. The topics can be drawn up later...
