About Me
Though I was originally born in Waukegan, Illinois, I spent most of my life living in Southern Indiana. (Typical JBC Student) I did not grow up in the church and did not come to accept Christ until my freshman year of High School. I had a full ride scholarship to Ball State University for Graphic Design, but God sent me to JBC to Major in Media and Missions instead. Though my first intentions on attending JBC have changed since then, I now am on track to obtain a degree in Elementary Education (k-6) and ESL (k-12). I spent this past summer on a travel team for JBC. My team and I were known as Consumed, based of of Hebrews 12:28-29. Traveling for the school is actually how God showed me a hidden passion for kids and eventually led me to pursue a teaching degree. I work at the West Town Mall at the Apple Store. I am part of the Concierge Team, which is a fancy way to say that I greet and answer phones. I also have been hired at the Smoky Mountain Children's Home in Pigeon Forge. I will be working as a House Parent on Night Staff. Besides school and work, I enjoy photography, running, and musicals. I find reading enjoyable, but only when time allows.

Tonight in my Introduction to Educational Technology classroom, we took an in-depth look at Web 2.0. We started off the class exploring the internet and youtube compiling a list of ten adjectives that describe what we think Web 2.0 is. Through this rendezvous of a scavenger hunt, I came across wikipedia and their definition of what Web 2.0 is. Wikipedia explains Web 2.0 as a perceived second generation of… Continue

Tonight in class, Mr. E passed out a 2007 news article from USA Today. The article talked about a seventh grade substitute teacher, Mrs Julie Amero, and how she used a computer in the classroom. Mrs. Amero was accused of browsing adult content while teaching the classroom. Well that is what the law is saying. According to the USA Today article, Mrs. Amero stepped out of… Continue

Tonight in Educational Technology, we went over academic software. Academic software is software designed to assist and support both educators and learners in teaching and learning. While in class tonight, I had the chance to play with a variety of academic software such as Tux Paint, Google Earth, Kidspiration, Comic life and iPhoto. Each different software had its own table for me to use in a pre-planned hands on activity. Each station allowed for an oppurtunity to discover the interaction… Continue

When I think of a words to describe myself, many come to mind. Words like creative, intelligent, compassionate, and caring all pertain to my being in some manner. However there is one word that describes me better than the rest and that word would be efficient. Efficient is an adjective defined as achieving maximum productivity with minimum wasted effort and working in a well-organized and competent manner. The reason why I am talking about the term efficient is because of the correlation it… Continue

Tonight Mr. E made me recall technology that I used while growing up. The first thing that came to my mind was the good old Gameboy by Nitendo. I remember that I received the handheld gaming device as a birthday gift. I want to say that it was my sixth birthday. At the time, it was the coolest, new toy to have, mainly because you could play a game and move from place to place. I believe the Gameboy was the first game system to go portable. Besides the Gameboy, I also received the game… Continue
