About Me
I am a 2nd grade teacher in Phoenix, AZ. I never thought I would love teaching the younger ones, but I do. This is my second year teaching. I love learning about student invented math strategies including some CGI concepts. I love the workshop approach to reading and writing and am trying out Words Their Way for the first time.
I also love integrating technology. I am currently getting my masters in Educational Technology from Northern Arizona University.
Other than teaching, I enjoy listening to and TRYING to play music (guitar and bass), reading, basketball (I coached for 3 years at the high school level), and cats.....yes I said it ....CATS!

I want to hear some good ideas for the classroom...so please share!
Thanks!

Do you have any student created podcasts that could be shared with a 6th grade class? Each student has an iPod Touch. I am doing graduate research on this project and will notify the classroom teacher of your interests. Thanks for allowing me to become a contact.

Hi Bobby.
I'm back with another arithmetic problem.
I ate lunch at the mall today, and spent $3.25 for rice and vegetables. Then I bought a Hershey bar for $.75.
How much did I spend for my lunch and candy?
Oh! I forgot that I had to pay $.24 tax on the rice and vegetables.
What was my total, after adding the tax?

Is this too difficult?

Hi Bobby,

I find your blog very interesting. I am currently getting my masters in Interaction design, I've studied Education and Information technology and have an interest in integrating technology in education. I would one day love to design applications and services all aimed for a better standard of learning.

I need a bit of advice, probably you may be best to help me please. How would you go about teaching time to children? Have you done this before? If so are there any problems you've encountered? Have you used the smart board or any board to help teach time? if so did you find it useful? I see you've placed a few educational videos, is there any relevant video you can send me relating to time teaching?

You're welcome, Bobby.
Thank you for helping me. I will bring "visitors" to your Classroom 2.0 page next week from the Ohio Educational Technology Conference. I am doing a mini session on PBS Teachers Connect for the Ohio Educational Technology Agencies. Now that I've connected with you, I'll have an excellent example to show participants. They'll love it! And now, good night ;-).
