Christy Tucker replied to Nancy Bosch's discussion To Twit or not to Twit
"I'm on Twitter, but I don't love it. When I'm busy, Twitter is the first thing I cut. I'll keep reading blog posts when I'm swamped with other work, but Twitter is take it or leave it for me. That said, I enjoy some of the…"

Christy Tucker replied to Fred Ravan's discussion How was this made?
"This version of the video wasn't created by students or teachers; the animations were done professionally by a company called XPLANE, who donated their time. I'm not sure what program it is, but it's certainly one of the professional…"

Christy Tucker replied to Anne Pemberton's discussion Which assignment is better, writing a paper or posting a blog?
"I'm 32, so not the youngest person on this site, but hardly as experienced as people like you. I've had the opportunity to work with some really terrific people to develop courses though, so I've been able to learn from some of the…"

Christy Tucker replied to Anne Pemberton's discussion Which assignment is better, writing a paper or posting a blog?
"One important 21st century skill that we can teach students is the ability to filter through information. There's so much out there; learning how to quickly to through a list of blogs to find the most relevant ones is a definite skill. In…"

Christy Tucker replied to Anne Pemberton's discussion Which assignment is better, writing a paper or posting a blog?
"You're absolutely right that you'll have to contact a school overseas to do global collaboration, but isn't that true whether you use blog or email? So that's equally a challenge regardless of the medium, right? Actually, at this…"

"This isn't a formal study, but Brain of the Blogger is an interesting post from Drs. Fernette and Brock Eide about the possible benefits of blogging. I thought it might be interesting to those of you in this discussion. (As a side note, I wish…"

Christy Tucker replied to Anne Pemberton's discussion Which assignment is better, writing a paper or posting a blog?
"Unfortunately, I think the questions you're asking, especially about the content, are beyond the scope of that research. It's simply not possible to measure every possible variable and every possible comparison in a single study. In…"

About Me
I'm an instructional designer developing online graduate courses for practicing educators. The very first course I created for PLS was with Will Richardson. Working with him got me interested in all of these new tools and how they can really enhance learning experiences.

I'm not very active on this site, but if you leave a comment or send me a private message I'll see it and try to respond.

Where I blog

Posted on April 19, 2008 at 2:52pm 0 Comments

I don't expect I'll blog much here. I have my "real blog" for myself: Experiencing E-Learning. My blog generally covers instructional design, online learning, and educational technology. I do a lot of linkblogging too.

I also blog with the rest of my team at PLS Online Course Development. This blog is mostly aimed at the other people in the company to keep them updated on what we do and why… Continue

Hi Christy,

With your work in Instructional Design for PLS, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording you might find of interest.

Indigo messages me when Anne is out of control, he gets so MAD and occasionally she makes me CRAZY, too! I think she lives in the wilderness far from civilization so we are probably her entertainment for the day! I'm not a good argue-er so I'm glad you are aboard to help be the voice of reason!!

As I told Indigo, what she is good for is to make us all better at thinking out our opinions and articulating them. N

But pardon me if I am wrong, It happened that I stumbled on your classrom2.0 profile when I saw you replying to a Moodle help request. Hence, thought you are a veteran in usage of Moodle.

Hi Christy,

I apologise if the comments I have posted was in apporpriate. The intention with me is never to disturb the focus of this forum as me too is a advocate of what each member of this forum is doing. But its just a excitation of creating something that I wanted to yell at the world, I guess even Socrates the great did something like this when he ran naked on the streets after inventing the relative density. Hence, please forgive me. And I truly believe in that Moodle Analytics will be a really powerful tool for online teachers using Moodle. If you find sometime please check it and lemme know how we can improve it.

Regards,
Sanjib

Hi Christy,

SITACT Inc has developed the Moodle Analytics module for dashboard style graphical reporting to track the progress of the online classes. Have a look at the demo at www.sitact.net.
