Hi,
Govinda, the situation of parents requiring their kids to work because of poverty is true over here in the Philippines as well. Online education would help but these people do not have computers and if they do, most probably they would sell them for food or to pay for debts eventually.

Maybe what we can do is join an organization in our country that has the funding to contribute significantly.

MIT is running a nationwide SAT Video contest. Any interest? It's part test prep but a whole lotta web 2.0 and public service.

Dear colleagues,

We are working on a project on how we can utilize Web 2.0, not only Social networking, in foreign language teaching. Your contributions, suggestions, and ideas are highly appreciated. I will keep you informed about the progress. Please let me know if you are interested.

Kind regards.

I am at the VITTA conference in Melbourne, Australia and am learning about online learning, using web 2.0 tools to provide opportunities for students to collaborate and share.

Hello there, i'm a school teacher/administrator from Nepal. I run an elementary school for poor family rural children. I'm Govinda by my name. if u find me like minded person plz mail me at gopisu@gmail.com I need encouragement and supports to keep my job upgraded. I'm discouraged because i couldn't have check dropout students every year. Some families compel their children leave school due to their financial problem. I'm worried for such situation.
