A Big Thanks!

Summer School is officially over for this year, but the students wanted to express their thanks to those of you who commented on our classroom blog. They were constantly asking me if I knew the people that made comments. They were excited to check, and eager to write back. I even watched [...]

Blogging on the iphone

I am loving the iPhone apps! I just found this one (Wordpress) that allows me to blog from my phone! I can even add pictures from my phone like this one taken of my summer school kids getting excited about a money game on the Smartboard. I am also enjoying the Pandora Radio, Weatherbug, Tap Tap [...]

Summertime Bloggers in Second Grade

I’m in the middle of teaching Summer School to some great second graders, and they have been posting to a class blog to practice writing skills.  They are really excited about the possibility of recieving comments from people, as well as intrigued with the cluster map on the blog.  If you have a free moment, [...]

Approach

This week a colleague of mine taught a one hour class on Movie Maker and Photostory to the teachers in my district. I found her approach interesting and effective, so I thought I'd share it. She had the teachers bring in pictures. Most of them brought in personal stuff (grandkids, family vacations, etc). Then she taught them how to use the program. She never mentioned how the programs might be used in the classroom, and led the discussion so that the teachers were talking more about how they'd u… Continue

Thanks for your comments on my chatter about my paper blog idea. It has been really a good experience--I will be happy to have you run with the idea, too! I most recently tried to get a "troll" or two to comment and use the troll comments to start a discussion about trolls, cyberbullies, and real world bullies. And a K level student helped herself to a comment sheet and drew a lovely picture of me and posted it last week. I'll write up what I did and how it's worked out and what I'll do a bit differently for my own journal tomorrow--and I can send you a copy. Thanks again, Sue

Hi once more, thanks for compliments. You do a great job as well!
I travel a lot of time in Europe to meet partners as to Comenius (school partnership) and eTwinning (electronic partnership). I like the idea to team up with schools in the States too! Dont you?
