Hi and welcome to my Classroom 2.0 page. A little about what I'm doing with Web 2.0 tools... I've joined an organization that is not only using the Web 2.0 tools to allow teachers to share, collaborate and learn, but to also earn...basically giving teachers the ability to create and publish their knowledge and share in their own online marketplace. It's really taking the best of the Classroom and move all who impart knowledge into the business of teaching... I invite any friends to join me @ weareteachers.ning.com.

WWW Leaders That Shape Our Future

Much has shaped the world we live in today including our transportation, education and technology. But in my opinion, nothing has created a rapid change like the World Wide Web. Especially now more than ever, the Web 2.0 movement and development has given the average user a way to create, publish, communicate, commerce, and connect like never before. So who are some of the thought leaders that have helped to shape the Internet that has brought us where we are today?… Continue

Shift Happens again..?

I've seen versions of this over time and obviously what we see are the basic threads of rapid information growth, our place in the global technology world, and a sense of urgency to jump on board. Meanwhile jobs are being lost, more houses in foreclosure, companies are shutting down, bailouts are being requested by leading banks, car companies and the like. With more information and more access and more "connectedness," where are these new jobs? I'm excited about the promise of 2049, but what wi… Continue

Good morning John,
Thank you for inviting me to your world here in Classroom 2.0. I am sorry it has taken me so long to accept your gracious invitation but I have been out of the country and away from computer access for months. I am back and excited to start sharing ideas again.

I appreciate the invite John - certainly the concept of the we are teachers initiative is of interest. While adding a commercial component to social networking is not something I would endorse (being an open learning advocate) I can see how it might actually drive the development of a social software site. Not unlike the freelance networking tools that are available to link abilities with needs to negotatite a price.
