In the interest of putting my money where my mouth is, I am going to push myself to post more regularly. This year has been busy, often in good ways. My daughter is an incredibly active 19 month old, keeping up with her is a full time job. The class I am [...]

Professionally, I had a great summer. There were so many ideas germinating. Summer is an invigorating time to recharge and I met the the new school year with anticipation. The new year, in turn, met me like a brick wall. My plans were derailed on every front. Our Technology Director [...]

Here are more lessons learned from the “Pageflakes in the Classroom” project I have been working on. I was able to present the curriculum pages to my primary teachers last Tuesday - it was met with great enthusiasm! The teachers will need more time to play with the various resources that are [...]
I’ll take whatever time I can get to speak to teachers on Staff Development days. Schedules are always so tight and the endless stream of initiatives compete for face time. Today, I got an hour with kindergarten and the first grade, and an unfortunate 25 minutes with the second and third grade combined. [...]

Sorry it’s been a while in between posts. I’ve been particularly busy this August preparing for September, thank you for sticking in there! I thought it might be useful to share a few of the things I’ve learned while building the k-3 curriculum pages in Pageflakes. I’ve made a few mistakes that [...]
I think you are the smartboard person I have been looking for!!! I noticed on your blog that you have helped teachers use the smartboard with growing with math. that is the same math curriculum that i use......could you help with some resources. i tried to email you, but was unsuccessful. could you email me so we can touch bases? jennyatcitty@yahoo.com
I hadn't noticed that the random link on a teacher pageflake page only links to other teacher pages. It's the type of thing that we should verify with the technical people before promoting it though...(just to be sure!)
Thank you, Pro. Calvert. Happy Spring Festival! I went to visit my auntie for the Chinese Lunar New Year and the Wi-fi was not available for several days. But I am trying to catch up now.
Hi Professor,
I am very excited about the class and teaching Science is relatively new to me, so I am excited about everything I can take away from this course. I am very into using technology in all the lessons that I teach, but the district I am in has much need for improvement, so that is also an adjustment I have to make. Looking forward to the semester.
A quick correction-the teacher version is available at pageflakes but the "random pagecast" link is still there. According to my latest interaction with Jeff and Ole they're working on that. Is that "brick wall" you ran into over the holiday still there?
Hi John,
Happy New Year! Did you notice that Ole B announced the new Teacher page at http://teacher.pageflakes.com without the "random pagecast" link and with other features a teacher might find useful? I'm not sure yet how to convert an existing page to the new format but I did post a question on pageflakes in the forum area for teachers and emailed Ole separately as well.

Thank you! This website and del.icio.us are totally new to me. I am getting familiar with them soon.
