Change is in the air

This blog was begun in December of 2005 by Katie after we had attended a NCETC conference. She invited Aaron to join in, Donna was next and eventually I joined. They have done a great job maintaining the momentum. ...

NCETC Chat Follow-Up

One of the great things I have learned from David Warlick (and have only had a chance to use it once, but loved it) is to foster the "back-end chat." So many times I've heard - "Close your laptops now. OR Turn off your monitors. ...

Got started with a couple of my NCETC inspired initiatives today.

I created a wikispaces wiki page today. The URL is http://WMSMath.wikispaces.com. I chose to create a protected wiki since the purpose of the wiki is to provide a centralized location for Walkertown Middle School math teachers to share ...

About Me:
I attended the Building Learning Communities Conference 2007 and in three days experienced the power of Web 2.0 tools and their potential for transforming schools and learning.
I attended the k12OnlineConference.org 2007 and continue to visit the site to "re-attend," watching presentations again or for the first time. What a wealth of shared knowledge that site represents for teachers.
My Professional Learning Community continues to grow as I fully participate in what our profession has to offer those who are willing to participate in the conversation about K12 leadership and learning.

Professional Learning Communities

Our school district is embarked on an effort to create professional learning communities based on our core beliefs of enthusiasm for teaching and learning, collaboration for teaching and learning, and continuous improvement of teaching and learning. This is the only way to achieve our mission to educate students so they are engaged in their education in a way that develops their capacity to pursue their goals and life long learning.

Hi Dennis,
Do you have anything in particular that you would like. I am working on developing a 4 day course on Using Web 2.0 tools to encourage creativity in writing and expression. I am also developing a one day workshop on Using 21st century technology tools. I could also do a 3hour session on podcasting or blogging. What are you thinking about?

Hi Dennis,
I don't know how to change the tabs. I looked in to it and couldn't figure it out. This would probably be a question for Steve.

Hi Dennis,
Thanks for joining the Educon Group and sharing your most memorable moment. I really enjoyed your presentation!

I was thinking about trying to present at an ASCD conference. I think it is so important to get people like you, leaders in school systems, excited and educated about Web 2.0. Is there a conference in the summer? Could I apply to present? I would love to have your thoughts and input about this.
Thanks!
-Liz
