My Twitter network came alive this weekend at the Educon 2.0 Conference in Philadelphia, PA. I met so many people that I have known virtually for a long time. We had amazing conversations about learning and technology (in that

order). What was most…

Assumptions of Appreciative Inquiry - Look on the Bright Side

(Cross posted from my school blog.)

The Thin Book Of Appreciative Inquiry by Sue Annis Hammond is just that, a very thin book (59 pages) that explains and describes

the process of appreciative inquiry. Hammond describes Appreciative

Inquiry this way,
The major assumption of Appreciative Inquiry is that in every organization…

What Do You Stand For?

According to Robert Evans, the author of The Human Side of School Change, this is an essential question that all leaders must ask themselves. He

also suggests that a motto is much more effective than a lengthy

mission statement or a long list of goals or values. I've been thinking

about this a lot lately, trying to… Continue

Back on Ning

Posted on October 13, 2007 at 10:11am 2 Comments

When I first joined this ning network there were only a few hundred of us. It was so exciting to get feedback on my blog entries, and contribute to and start discussions. I remember those early heady days here. I would check my e-mail constantly to see if anyone had responded to anything I had written. I got to "know" some people. I learned so much from everyone. I experienced a little "fame;" more people started reading my blog and Steve Hargadon even interviewed me about one of my projects.… Continue

Hi Elizabeth. I was wondering if you have students or educator friends who would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!

Oh my GOSH! This is perfect. There is so much here I could use and I love the order -I was really struggling with which way to go. THANK YOU! I sent out a form on my state list serve - here are some of the results...I just asked what the 5 most important computer tools for college bound kids would be. Here are my responses: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pm9KASwUSqzyL84Ko0fk3YA
Thanks again....you are going to be a great resource. I have enjoyed your page so much already!

HI Elizabeth,
I just got the go-ahead to design an elective class for our highschool about technology tools for college bound. Did you ever develop any type of consensus about what you might offer? I would love to hear any ideas you came up with-I am just in the planning stages.

Hi, Elizabeth! I forgot to add a personal message when I sent the colleague request. (Can I blame it on having too much turkey?)

I am an Instructional Technology Coach for 3 elementary schools in a rural system in Georgia. I, too, am interested in bringing Web 2.0 tools to the classroom.

Just wanted to introduce myself... I look forward to working with you!

Well, you're right. There does seem to be a problem. I'm going to submit a trouble ticket right now. When I change the main page's forum view to list discussions by "newest discussions" yours is right up there (btw, I deleted the duplicate if you're wondering). But when I change the view to latest activity (meaning, the top discussion was either posted or commented on most recently), many of the discussions seem to disappear.

Thanks for the heads-up.

I wonder if there is a problem. No, I'm not doing any approval process. Can you check and try again, and then let me know if it's still a problem?

Hi Elizabeth,

Since your looking for Web 2.0 APPs I recommend you take a look at WiZiQ's virtual classroom and authorSTREAM's Web based power point viewing platform.
