Tech Savvy Schools in London

Hi I will be in London on the 2nd of April and would really like to visit a learning resources centre or school media centre if possible.  I am hoping to see how other schools handle their digital resources, e-books, kindles  and share some ideas on ICT  teaching and learning at each of our schools. From what I can tell many  schools will be closed for Easter but I have heard that some may actually be open. If you work at such a school or know of one in the London area could you please reply to…See More

Using Second Life with Middle School

I am working on a Second Life Ed Field trip collection as part of my work on virtual worlds at our school. If anyone has any ideas to add please request to join with a brief message if possible, and I can give you permission edit the wiki. http://abcinset.wikispaces.com/Educational+Destinations+in+Virtual+Worlds I am also really interested in how teachers are using the Teen grid with their students. About Me
I am a Canadian teacher who has been working in El Salvador for the last 13 years. I currently teach ICT as well as run the new Learning Resources Centre. Our staff and students have taken to web 2.0 in a big way and we hope to continue expanding our digital toolboxes.

Our Attempts at Videos

Examples of our stop motion animations and podcasts.

Our 6th grade students worked on making In Plain English style videos as part of the end of year Pompeii project.
Here is a preview of them working on it. The final videos will be released at http://abcict.wikispaces.com/ towards the end August.

I have now come to the conclusion that I hold far too many blog accounts and am going to limit myself to bloglines,my school blog and classroom 2.0, There is so much out there to try out it is tempting to try everything that web 2.0 has to offer.

I have now finished the majority of inservice training I had planned to offer, things like digital video, blogging,SMART Board, and webquests and am now embarking on the final two, Moodle and wiki and video conferencing. It is difficult to get…

Hi Jennifer,
If I remember correctly, my students liked how they could move all the individual joints on the people at Pixton to get the pose that they wanted.

Some of my students also looked at ToonDoo but most liked Pixton better. I teach high school kids so I don't know if that matters.

Hello Jennifer!

I've become a new member not too long ago and am very excited about this site. Needless to say as a new member I know no one. May I kindly invite you as a guest to my site (http://ntoond2.ning.com/). Any suggestions or comments you may have on how best to navigate the 2.0 world would be most appreicated.

Also, would you care to share any sayings which are particular to your country on my site? For example, in the US one can say "Waste not, want not" or "Birds of a feather flock together", "A stitch in time saves nine"... and so on.

I'd be most grateful.
Thanks and hope to hear from you.
