Google took a step toward greater enterprise adoption of its hosted e-mail, document, and collaboration services this week by removing the "beta" tag from its Google Apps brand. "We have taken a razor-sharp focus on removing barriers to hosted solutions for the enterprise this year, and today we took the beta tag question right off the table," said Andrew Kovacs, a Google spokesperson, in a phone
We are using Edline (yes, I realize it is CMS, not LMS) and are considering switching to Moodle. I was thinking that it might be a good idea to start using Moodle to supplement what Edline can't do, like blogs and wikis, for a year to get everyone...
I'm an Instructional technologist and educator of educators looking for some interesting collaboration and idea sharing. One can never have too many friends...
Our Brainyflix video contest just ended, and I wanted to thank you for helping us get the word out. We got 800 submissions from across the country!
That said, MIT was really happy with the results and will let us run another contest, so we're going for it! But this time, we're gonna have kids create Brainypics flashcards - which are images and sentences paired up with a one of our SAT/ACT words. The contest ends May 22nd, and there'll be iTunes and a cash prize like last time. To boot, we'll double the payout if the kids can hit a certain goal. More details at brainyflix.com/main/contest_rules.
Do you mind passing my message along to the education college again?
I just added a group that I think you might be interested in, “Educational Technologists.” http://www.classroom20.com/group/instructionaltechnologists I am hoping this group can grow and we will be able to support each other and collaborate so that we can better support our colleagues.
Hi Tim. I was wondering if you have students or educator contacts who would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
I'm working on it. Trying to adapt to these social sites at present. Also, I'm taking a Photoshop class - we will see if I can get some creative stuff up.
With your work in Instructional Technology and desire for ideas, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.
Now this is a home page! Welcome to Classroom 2.0, Tim. Check out groups and discussions, that's where the fun is here (along with making cool home pages of course).
Enjoy!
