Terry,

How goes the year. I was wondering if you interested in another collaborative effort for the year?

Terry,
Glad I got a chance to meet and talk with you at the TELL Conference yesterday. If you're interested, here's a link to my blog and the train stories. (California Zephyr & Coast Starlight)

Hi Terry
My name’s David and I’m a history teacher in Queensland, Australia. I use a lot of podcasting and online tools with my classes and am always looking for new ideas.
I host a group on diigo (it’s similar to delicious and very popular with teachers) for history teachers to share links, ideas and resources. It’s at http://groups.diigo.com/groups/history-teachers.
Please come along and join and share any sources or resources you use with the rest of us. See you there.

Hi Terry,

With your interest in Technology Integration and Online Learning, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording conducted by Nellie Deutsch on Technology Integration.

Hey Terry,

Our Brainyflix video contest just ended, and I wanted to thank you for helping us get the word out. We got 800 submissions from across the country!

That said, MIT was really happy with the results and will let us run another contest, so we're going for it! But this time, we're gonna have kids create Brainypics flashcards - which are images and sentences paired up with a one of our SAT/ACT words. The contest ends May 22nd, and there'll be iTunes and a cash prize like last time. To boot, we'll double the payout if the kids can hit a certain goal. More details at brainyflix.com/main/contest_rules.

Do you mind telling students and your colleagues again?

Thanks,
Jack

Terry,

Perhaps in the lieu of the Lincoln Douglas debate, students could discuss whether slavery in the South was inhumane compared to what child labor was in the North (who benefits from these institutions). I am beginning the unit in two weeks in which we take a comparative look at both the institution of slavery and the labor in the northern factories. Give it some thought.

Terry,
I think a meet and greet would be an good way to work out the kinks since I have yet to use Skype in this setting. I teach a class from 1:10-2:33 which would be a good group to test with. If you have any particular dates give me a heads up. Next Friday the 27th might work.
