Elementary Classroom Teacher of intermediate students (grades 3-5) in the Pacific Northwest. I began my teaching career on the secondary level from 1991-93 and left for a brief time and worked at the post-secondary level until returning to the elementary classroom in 1999, having taught in self-contained and multi-age/multi-grade environments. I have been a technology hound, since the advent of the Internet to college/university campuses circa '91-92, and creating web pages for various organizations that I have worked for since 1998. Since 2002 I have been mentoring teachers in the areas of curriculum integration and classroom management in my school system. In 2006 I began work on an advanced graduate degree in educational leadership and curriculum development. In 2007 I was appointed Assistant Principal at my building site.
I am a big proponent of experiential and cooperative learning in the classroom. Many of, if not all my learning communities focus on hands on/ project based learning. In each learning situation I attempt to integrate technology as I prepare students for 21st century learning.

hi there Rick,
Impressive profile there, I'd like to learn more about what you do.
I to am a believer in authentic project based learning!
My focus is on using media to document those projects thus fostering metacognition - promoting kids and teachers as producers of media. Any way welcome to CR 2.0!
