Very good advice, Alan! Of course, the pictures you posted in your Blog were likely NOT posted by the victims, but the victims' "friends". More and more younger people are insisting that the kind of photos you've shared are…

Teacher Code of Ethics

Does your school district, or your state, have a code of ethics for teachers? How does that inform your work? Does it in anyway impact your use of technology?A recent case in Minnesota of teachers harassing a gay student highlighted for me the Code of Ethics for teachers. In part, the standard of professional conduct includes:A teacher shall make reasonable effort to protect the student from conditions harmful to health and safety.A teacher shall disclose confidential information about…See More

Swedish Preschool, Linguistic Immersion, and Baby College.

Swedish elementary school begins when kids are 7 years old and there's no real formal structure to preschool except "socialization". What do they teach in preschool? Not ABC's, Counting, and Colors...How "To be a good friend and to believe in their own abilities." But that structure offers individual learning plans for each student and lots of linguistic immersion: always talking. The best predictor of human capacity, according to University of Chicago Economist, James Heckman, is linguistic…See More

Hi Mike,
I read about your offer for a free 4 week trial of GradePad. We have a group of about 25 teachers just finishing a pilot year with iPod touches - will add to that group next year. We are also meeting with administrators this summer for a training. Would like to check out the app for teacher and principal use. Can you get us provide trial licenses?
Thanks,
Brad
