We've had at least a few people respond to my last thread who are working in the postsecondary environment and who use blogs, wikis, etc., in their instruction. I thought we could start another…Continue

Hi. I am interested in connecting with other postsecondary level instructors who are using Web 2.0 apps, especially blogging, in their classrooms. Is there a specific tag or forum area for college…Continue

FINALLY got around to checking out the wiki. Great stuff on there. I'd be interested in asking some questions about some of the info. on the presentation slides you have posted. I am really trying to more smoothly integrate my tech use in my…

I agree with Marie G, especially identifying images. I would also add that organizing and categorizing the words would help. Finally, I'd recommend learning word parts. Scientific terminology is especially suited to that type of vocabulary…

Hi there! It has been months since I popped my head into the Classroom 2.0 forum here. Still looking for a place to dialog about blogging, other social media, postsecondary instruction, college reading, developmental education, etc. Looking forward…

Jay, that all sounds really interesting. I have never really done anything with wikis and have wondered how I might best experiment with them. Right now I am teaching critical thinking and developmental reading. I think the wiki approach might have…

Hi Mary, I use a single wikispace for all of the education classes that I teach, including a senior methods/student teaching sequence and a freshman Intro to Education course. This (private) wikispace is organized so that each section has its own…

Sounds great, Donnie. Thanks. I like the idea of using the blog as a way for students to take ownership in their education.

There might be some application for what you are doing with my dev. ed. students. Is there a link I can go to?

Yes, a central place to list the blogs is essential. Right now, I've been able to manage with the list on Blogger, but if I were having multiple classes use the blog, I think Bloglines or Google Reader would be a must.

This sounds great, Liz. I love blogs for reflection. For my project, the reflection posts have the most impact on me as an instructor, in how I view the students and in what I learn about them... I think I need to tell my professors about this! They…

About Me
I received an M.S. in Reading from Cal State Fullerton in Jan. 2010. Since then, I've been teaching reading at the college level, part-time. I love my job. I also love incorporating Web 2.0 tech in the classroom, preferably blogging. I'm always on the lookout for people to talk to about ideas for the classroom, what works, what doesn't, etc. I would love to get a group of postsecondary developmental education active on this site.
