My name is Jabiz Raisdana and I am currently the K-5 ESL teacher at Compass International School, Doha Qatar. I am a interested in many social issues and am running an online class called Intrepid Classroom, in hope of working with kids to instill a sense social activism.
I was hoping I could find some teachers who are looking for a service project for their schools. In short, my best friend has started the first free all girls secondary school in Kenya and would love to have as many "sister" schools as possible.
You can read more about my connection with the school at my blog under the category Daraja:
Just getting into this ning thing and thought I'd take a look at yours after reading your blog (I left a comment on it earlier - mischief)
Hope you are finding life a little easier now. I've just got fired myself and thought about your position, and am about to write a blog on www.andytgeezer.com about it, refering to your post.
I really think that the collision between e-life and real-life is getting silly.
Gone are the days when you could go to school and be anonymous to the pupils. Me and you have been blogging for ages. I've been blogging for twice the amount of time that I have been teaching.
It's kinda hard to hide away when my name is the first to come up on google.
Jabiz, good luck in your new path forward! Keep your head up and continue doing what you believe in. That... will make all the difference in the world! Good luck! --Frank
