Favorite Online Communication Vehicle?

Greetings colleagues! I just posted two HITS and thus am now feeling bold enough to post another TARGET. How do you find and converse with peers online? We have many choices today: Facebook (huge for me because of my many professional contacts), Twitter (I follow some very smart people), Nings, and of course the venerable listserv/message boards. Which to you use and which do you prefer? That is my question in the short survey I just posed. I am hoping for responses. Beyond demographics, there…See More

About Kindle vs Nook...now you would want to look at an iPad as well! Also bear in mind that the Kindle allows you to search the Internet from anywhere, FREE. They have to do that so you can go to Amazon any time you want to buy a book. But you can…

@ Dana Haby...you will have to double check when using the kindle. The last time I checked, it did not allow for the ePub format. That's why I went with the nook. It's really cool....

@ Ali Wood...I just got my nook to this past weekend for my bday too:-). I've played around with it and am able to download books from my public library here in San Antonio. If your public library uses ePUBs as a format, you should be able to…

Chicago is great! The city itself has alot to offer from festivals to museums and of course shopping for those that are shopaholics. I'm not, but I do like to look and love people watching which is easy to do in such a large city. I actually live in one of the nothern suburbs, Lake Forest, but I am walking distance to the metra which is an easy ride to the city. Lake Forest where I live is lovely. I can walk to the metra, the public library, village center and to the beach on Lake Michigan and my kids can ride their bikes or walk to school. I'm really enjoying not being so car dependent! I think Chicago is a neat city to visit and offers alot of options. Hopefully you can come back some day and if you do give me a call.

Aloha Ann,

I recently came across your 1998 article on teachers' perceptions and use of interactive whiteboards. I am especially interested in the survey instrument that you used as I am planning on a similar research topic for my master's project. Can you direct me to where I can find a copy of the actual 67 survey questions that were used in the study? Thanks!

Hi Mary,

With your work in Technology for Sam Houston State U, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.

Here’s a Public Class on Technology Integration you might be interested in.
