Vendors:

If you have not placed an ad in the right panel, take your best shot here! Please don't do it anywhere else in the community, or we'll have to revoke your license to sell.

If you want to interact with us creatively in the use and design of your product, you'll find another group that serves as a clearinghouse for that kind of collaboration.

The Smithsonian Center for Education and Museum Studies is offering “Shout,” a free multidimensional resource to expand and enrich science curriculum. This year’s series, “Water Matters,” kicks off Feb. 7 and 8 with the first of three interdisciplinary webinars: “Water Questions: When We Want to Learn More.” During the webinar series, participants will have the opportunity to hear from and interact with Smithsonian scientists and researchers, and connect with other educators around the world. Along with the webinars, educators participating in Shout will also have access to comprehensive lesson-planning materials and hands-on activities, including a new badging program. For more information and registration, go to: www.smithsonianconference.org/shout/program-2012/.

My new book was just released by I.S.T.E. last month: Connecting Students to S.T.E.M. Careers, Social Networking Strategies. The title is fairly sef-explanatory, and you can find even more resources on the topic on my blog, titled the same. I also try to add resources to the pile through my Twitter account. I can be followed @camillelaplume

You can read my children's book series "Finance for Kidz" FOR FREE! Just ask your local library to subscribe to them on overdrive and you can read them on kindle or any e-reader.

You can read up about them on www.finance4kidz.com

I am proud to say that I am NOT affiliated with nor did I get any kind of support from any Credit Union, Credit Card Company, Financial Institution or brokerage house.

Remember to check out who is behind the financial literacy books. You will be surprised and disturbed by their hidden sponsors, and  their inherent biases!!!

Greetings!

I wanted to let you know that the next generation of Quizinator, renamed Fifty Sneakers, has just been released.

Fifty Sneakers is a secure, easy-to-use, online application for teachers, instructors, and homeschoolers for creating online tests and building educational documents that can be saved and printed. You can take a quick tour at: http://www.fiftysneakers.com/tour_overview.aspx or visit our great tutorials

Fifty Sneakers is still free to use with additional premium features available for a small monthly fee.

Fifty Sneakers, allows all educators to:

- Create, store, and print worksheets, studysheets, exams, and quizzes online, just as Quizinator did, but with a significantly improved interface and new download options.

- Build secured and safe online tests for their students, complete with images and video.

- Track student performance with automatic grading and analysis for online tests. Print reports for your own records or to give to your students

- Create, manage and join communities to exchange resources, ideas and discussions with other teachers. This makes it easy for teachers to have access to large amounts of contents that are not their own.

It is really an extraordinary application, and it is fully translated into Spanish. Because, our members are from all around the world and from different cultures, we are moving towards globalization into other languages, as well.

I would like to make this great new resource to the teachers in your site. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us at: support@fiftysneakers.com or use the online contact form.

Looking for alternative ways to raise funds for your school or for a student group? FundingFactory is a free fundraising-by-recycling program. In honor of America Recycles Day, FundingFactory is sponsoring a photo contest. To learn more about the program or enter the contest, visit: http://www.facebook.com/FundingFactory I'm writing on behalf of FundingFactory, but my company is also participating by recycling our printer cartridges and small electronics to donate the funds to a local school in WI. If you sign up to participate, you can also recruit businesses in your area to support your school or student group by dropping off their recyclables. It's a great way to raise money for new equipment or a project while protecting the environment and teaching your students how to be environmentally responsible citizens. Let me know if you have questions.
