The reason being that the number of choices for users to freely consume at one moment or another is fairly large. Want to access CNN? Go right ahead. CNN International is there, too. Plus FOX, Discovery, Bloomberg, NBC, ESPN, ITV, Sky News, BBC, France 24, Russia Today, Deutsche Welle, Al Jazeera English, CBC and others. Some options provide English, French, German, and Arabic language services as well. And the company just last week added partnerships for BBC Arabic, C-SPAN, Russia Today Arabic, France 24 Arabic, and Euronews German, French, and Arabic.

This is a great resource for history teachers to tune into relevant news and information around the word. Best of all it's quick and easy to load... oh, and free.
