Hunger For Learning

I believe the following quotation to be true for those of us who sometimes consider ourselves "full" of learning:

"The full person does not understand the needs of the hungry." - Irish Proverb

I am thinking on this deeply, since I don't yet know how to create a simulation in myself that represents a true hunger for learning that might exist in others. I know I have a strong desire for learning, and I am meditating on the difference. More later *:-)

Sherlock Holmes & Dr. Watson went camping and...

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are going camping. They pitch their tent under the stars and go to sleep. Sometime in the middle of the night Holmes wakes Watson up.

Holmes: "Watson, look up at the stars, and tell me what you deduce."

And now a word from my favorite playwright:

"O! This learning, what a thing it is."

William Shakespeare, The Taming of the Shrew, 1597

It is true, I am addicted to learning, and I don't want to use a twelve-step group to get rid of it *:-) I hope to remain addicted.

Have fun *:-)

Hi Lee,
I have an online tutoring company and currently using a collaborative tool for providing tutorials. I want to know that how effective and viable SL environment is to suit our kind of teaching methods? Also, if possible can you tell me some of the universities or institutions that are using SL to give education and how are they actually doing it, i.e. the tools and resources they are using?
As of now we are exploring the possibilities of starting tutorials in SL.

Hey Lee,

Thanks for the info on SL - sorry to have missed you in there. I'll be in and out over the weekend checking out the SL-element of the EduCon2.0 conference happening here: http://tinyurl.com/334rth The realspace element has a very cool wiki, here: http://educon20.wikispaces.com/

Hope to see you there!
