About Me
My name is Nellie (Muller) Deutsch. I have been teaching English as a foreign language for over 30 years. I have been integrating technology into the ESL/EFL classroom since the 1990s. I have been involved in international collaborative projects and WebQuests via Moodle for the past 5 years. My first website, Nellie's English Projects was an experiment that evolved from a WebQuest and started me off as a webmistress in the days of html before web 2.0 tools. I facilitate online and face-to-face workshops on how to use Wikieducator as a collaborative tool for instruction and learning and conduct online workshops and conferences. I also moderate live online workshops for Integrating Technology for Active Lifelong Learning which is a project of IT4ALL, storytelling and cultures, and integration of technology and web 2.0 tools into blended learning classrooms (online and face-to-face) on WiZiQ.

I am passionate about learning and hold a doctor of education in educational leadership specializing in curriculum, and instruction online at the University of Phoenix, passed my oral defense and got my dissertation approved. I researched instructor use of technology in blended learning in higher education around the world. My dissertation is available on ProQuest. In my spare time, I mentor educators on how to integrate web 2.0 tools for instruction and learning. I would like to see e-learning available and free worldwide.

I am looking forward to collaborating with other educators on the best ways to integrate technological tools in order to facilitate and improve instruction and learning.

Please feel free to contact me by email

Hi Nellie,
Are you leading any courses on PLNs or Moodle in the near future?

Here are 2 links:
a) Wikipedia
b) ThinkQuest

But best to read Lorenz's original book. I raised the hairs on my neck.

Thanks, Nellie. One of my students did it for me -- my take on the butterfly effect in the Chaos Theory book.

cool. it worked, and was as simple as embedding youtube videos or picasa albums in the tiddlywiki-dataperfect learning environment i have been immersed in for the past 2 1/2 years

thanks for your comment. i am delighted to have found classroom 2.0 as my entry point to ning - via a google search for "digital languages" and would love to find ways of working with you - plus any guidance into finding my way around the classroom and connecting with others who share a realization of the possibilities of the diversity of free collaborative, and finding out how to design, set up and facilitate classrooms - eventually one or more for each of the many projects and networks i have been involved with.

i am not sure if i have succeeded in inserting a video, and will try embedding one by a novice - myself - with a flipvideo - wonderfully simple and inexpensive video cameras for sharing voices and visions of people and communities throughout the world - in the spirit of the 1980 MacBride Report: Many Voices, One World

Thank you for accepting my invitation. As mentioned on my profile I am trying to encorage teachers to use web 2.0 tools. Some of them are definately not computer literate; other just wont try new thing because their conventional system works. Is there a way in which I can get their attention?? I send them monthly newletters with the updating of the blogs I created.
I would appreciate any feedback on this.

Thanks
