We're off to a great start!

It is so easy to forget in a year's time just how busy the first few weeks of school can be! Whew! A three day weekend sure was helpful just to get caught up on some school stuff. I was chatting with one of my colleagues the other day about how we tend to forget just how far we can take the students (educationally) in a brief 10 month period. Then...it's time to start all over again! Setting up the rules and routines sure takes a lot outta ya! As I write out my lesson plans at the beginning of t… Continue

Information Overload

Wow! It seems as though I am going to need a couple more months of summer to be able to finish sorting through the handouts, ideas, and examples that I have received in the last 4 days. After spending 2 days at the State Reading/Math Academy and another 2 days at the MACE/MTI conference, I am pretty much exhausted.

I have so many ideas that I want to try out in my classroom, but don't know where to start! I guess I will just pick one or two ideas and give it a whirl! :)

Hey, thanks for the comment. I love my instructional design (ed tech) master's program. It's exactly what I've been looking for (I looked at/tried out different master's programs for about four years before deciding on this one). I started out in an educational leadership M.Ed. program, but it just wasn't what I wanted to learn. I am in a completely online program through a major university and I absolutely love it.

I say go for it! I'm pleased that what I learn in my master's program is not only helpful to me in my K-12 classroom role now, but I can also use it to expand to other training/educational roles later on in my life. It's very versatile.

Hello! I'm glad the MTI conference brought you here! I hope you find value in this fertile community! (I'm tired after the conference, so can't imagine doing two back-to-back).
