Giddy about learning

(Cross posted at www.futura.edublogs.org)

I feel like a giddy schoolgirl this morning–just having so much fun interacting with other educators around the world who are also giddy about what they are doing.

While most of us in the U.S. were sleeping, Jeff Utecht of Thinking Stick in Shanghai was testing out a new site called

NECC 2007 to......2008

Though my blog has had a meltdown the last two weeks, I HAVE been blogging Necc 2007 on a site called tumblr, which is very handy for quickly posting things.

IF you want to check it out, or read about some sessions at NECC, check it out at www.technolibrary.tumblr.com.

It's been great getting to meet people in person, get inspired, and meet new people.

We're leaving and heading back to campus with a plan to start a women o…

Blogging central for NECC

I think it would be great to have a "blogging central" site for NECC--sort of like LeaderTalk where you could go and read a lot of different impressions of the conference, all in one place.

With so many people posting on their own blogs, but all of us at the conference, it's hard to keep up, so it'd be nice to have one spot to post things, read things, keep up with "not miss" sessions.

Idea for next year?

365 days

Over at the Library 2.0 group, Libraryman(Michael) who is a power Flickr user, posted a great idea that I wanted to share here.

He's starting a 365 Library Days project, where you document your library for a year, and post 365 photos to the Flickr library group.

I thought this idea had a lot of connections for Classroom 2.0. What if we contributed 365 photos to a classroom 2.0 group on flickr? Or just took this idea back to our individual schools?

More on my…

Hi,I have just joined the group (about 30 minutes ago) and I'm very excited about getting a presentable site together.  I love your site and I love the ideas you have presented here in regards to Web 2.0 in the classroom and as a teaching and motivational tool.
I am a grad student at FSU and also a brand new school media specialist, as I will be opening up a brand new school this fall.  I am doing a project in one of my classes this semester that calls for me to interview a school librarian using new technology.  Would you at all be interested in this?  I would love to interview you...it should not be a long interview.
Thanks for your time.  I hope you don't mind that I left this in your comment wall...I didn't see an email link.

I enjoy your photos and wonder if you would submit some to the Flick group Reinventing PBL. I really like 4036945.jpg of/by mirror girl.

Thanks for inviting me to be your friend! I'm thinking a great deal about what will motivate my students who find reading difficult to read, knowing that the best way to find reading less difficult is to practice it. I think I need some high interest, short books to get their attention, and maybe just 4 or 5 titles that some of them could read and discuss together. What do you think?

Thanks so much for getting my class involved with Reading is Fundamental!! And for the support you and your staff give to the reluctant readers in my classes.

Thanks for contributing to my "Math and Technology" discussion. Your ideas about Google math tours and Screencast-o-matic sound interesting. I'll be sure to check them out!

Patrick, that would be fine! I was concerned I had gone on a little too much about it. Glad it was useful!

Carolyn,

Thanks for the substantial post on my page. I wanted to ask you for your permission to reprint it on my blog as a separate post all to itself. Would you be opposed?
