Who's being educated? ME!
I teach a course on educational technology at Colorado State
University within the teacher licensure program. We are eight weeks into the semester and it
has been a very interesting ride so far.
I must admit that I entered the class somewhat naively, thinking that my
students, being “digital aboriginals” would embrace technology, embrace a more
collaborative approach to teaching, how wrong I was…

How's it going? Well, I'm teaching my edtech course in NING and it's going great. The students love the environment and the interaction is really good. In comparison to the wiki site, the students are posting more on ning.

One comment I left on a student's blog, since she had arrived at the conclusion that she got better information from a search than asking a question on the social network. I'll find my response and send it to you.

It's just a text box that I update manually. You have to use some html code, but I'll send you the raw code for our sidebar and you'll see how relatively simple it is.
I'm assuming many of the CSU members who have joined are because of you--I left a long comment on the blog of one student. Did she ever mention it?
I am looking for students and researchers, perhaps like yours, to look specifically at learning through online sound, animation, and interactivity. We focus on history, but that's a pretty broad reach and can use many kinds of technology tools.
If you all know of any research, or want a topic for new research, we're looking at how these things work or don't work. (Don't work to often for general learners IMHO). Any insight at all would be great.
Oh, and can you get my CSU parking ticket fixed?

Believe it or not, I'm actually working on it right now. As soon as I get it done, I'll send you a copy of my first draft. To get a sense of some of our projects, here's our course site http://www.itecksu.org/courses/edtech/pages/Assignments.html.
I'm planning on changing some assignments around to integrate more web2.0 applications --for example, using a wiki instead of frontpage to build the portfolio.

It looks like we're doing the same thing. I teach ed tech at Kent State (OH). My course is online and we do e-portfolios, wequests...maybe we can discuss assignments and class projects etc.
