i was in San Antonio in July for NECC08 and the pre-occupation with the technology was a little disconcerting..having always used technology, for me it is how to improve the learning and hopefully teaching without the schooling getting in the way(too much)

not so different in US compared with Australia. i am based in Melbourne Victoria.

With your work in Education Technology integration, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.

I am currently putting the finishing touches on my masters capstone on research supported pedagogy within VLEs. I have been using the Active Worlds platform to create Virtual World WebQuests. Hopefully I will be able to use them with my online students. Otherwise, I have a handful of teachers in my brick and mortar school who are brave enough to try them out.
