Thanks, for the reply. I will definitely be following your posts on Moodle.
Lauren,

Just wanted to welcome you to Classroom 2.0!

It's interesting to learn that being part of this community was a requirement in a teacher training programme! We have certainly come a long way! It's so good to see that online professional development resources are recognized out there in the real classrooms. There is still a lot of resistance to this type of learning (mostly because it doesn't give you a piece of paper at the end) but, gradually, the online world is getting richer and is beginning to get the attention that it deserves.

Welcome aboard! I'm sure that you will continue to find value in the time you spend on this site.

Hey everybody! I think I am already feeling overwhelmed around here. WOW, what a huge tank of knowledge to draw from.

I teach in the Educational Technology and Library media program at Pittsburg State University in SE Kansas. This is my first semester in this role. I crossed over "from the dark side" of public education after teaching high school math for 10 years. I must say that I am LOVING where I am now. Being able to share new technologies with fellow teachers has always been a passion of mine, and that's what I am getting to do now.

I will say that this whole Web 2.0 thing is terribly intimidating, but exciting at the same time. I am trying to learn as much and as fast as I can. I think Classroom 2.0 is going to help me with that learning curve! I look forward to meeting some of you and sharing ideas and frustrations.
Hi Michelle and welcome to Classroom 2.0!

Yes, a quick glance at the number of forums and discussions here reveals that this indeed is a rich environment and, therefore, can often seem intimidating. It sounds like you have a lot of experience as an educator, though, so feel free to jump into some existing forums or start your own discussion on a topic that is relevant to you.

Welcome aboard!

Hello Michelle,

This sounds like a dream job! I also love to share new technologies wih teachers and students. Classroom 2.0 has been a great way for me to learn new tools and ideas when and where I can. I love it here and hope you do too.

Helen
Thank you for the welcome! I look forward to sharing in this community.
Hi everyone. I'm an assistant principal at a high school in Winchester, Virginia. I got started with Web 2.0 just recently becaue of a class from UVA taught by another mem ber, Chris Oneal. I've started using some basic tools and trying to help out the other administrators in broadening their use of the internet. I think this group can help in that task. It appears to have an amazing group of people to draw from. Hope I can be of some assistance.
Hi Michael,

Welcome to Classroom 2.0!

As an assistant principal working with web 2.0 tools, I am sure you can offer great perspectives on many of the issues discussed here. Also, it's great to see you are working with other educational leaders on better understanding technology.

There are many great discussions, ideas, and resources here. Feel free to start discussions, ask any questions, or to join in the many existing discussions. Our different jobs and perspectives within education make the collaboration here so helpful and enriching. You hit the nail on the head - there is an amazing group of people here...

Hi everyone. I am Sinikka Laakio-Whybrow, a language teacher from Finland. For years I have been involved in all kinds of school projects with partners in Europe and Asia. I am keen to learn to use the fantastic new tools to manage these projects more easily. I also hope to share ideas and best practices with peers around the world. I look forward to getting to know many new colleagues in this network!
