Hi
I'm an ICT teacher in Norwich, UK. I'm interested in ways that my students can share their ideas and work with other students around the world.
Our students recently had to create a leaflet about learning to learn and the right to education. We share opinions on 3 key questions with students in the USA and had a video conference using flashmeeting. To have a look at what we did in more details go to my blog post

Yea, Alex! That looks super! Right now, my school is on summer break (which I assume many of us are), but I'd still love to visit with you about possibilities for collaboration in the future.

With which age groups do you mostly work? Are there any curricular topics in which you or your students are more interested in collaboration opportunities?
Letting me know that you are already on holiday isn't good for my morale! We've still got 7 weeks to go!
I mainly work with students aged 11-15.
In the autumn term my students will be doing the following:
11-12 year olds will be making presentations about emotional literacy (what aspects of your life make you happy/motivated/angry etc)
12-14 year olds will be making posters to promote the international day of peace (21st Sept) and sharing their opinions on a blog post click here
13-14 year olds will be creating and analysing a survey comparing the lives of young people in different countries. You can have a look at the survey we did last year, some blog posts with students' comments and the lesson plans.
Any schools would be very welcome to join us next term.
Thanks
Alex
In our class, we're interested in looking at different perspectives on social studies topics. For example, Samuel Slater, in the United States, is considered the father of the American Industrial Revolution. When google searched via http://www.google.co.uk/, conflicting results exist.

It would be a unique experience for our students to compare their understanding of historical events through web collaboration.
I'll give this some thought and chat to our History Dept.
The challenge with collaboration projects like this is that the students need to be studying the same thing at the same time. Our Schemes of Work are planned in such detail that it is hard to move things around.
Do you have the same problems?
Alex, this sounds terrific! I too am on summer break. I have 5th grade students and would love to integrate possibilities. Will be checking out your links and continue to post thereafter!
Hi Alex - I teach at Primary level so I doubt what I am doing is anywhere near as sophisticated as what you are looking for... our latest plan is to try and link up with a few schools to do an Art project - a study of International artists.which hopefully will culminate in producing a joint PowerPoint calendar - but any ideas/advice would be very much appreciated.

Are you still looking for collaborative partners? I am currently working with 6 schools and would love to do a project with one or more of my teachers.
Hello
I'm a primary level library teacher and I am in an educational technology program and I'm looking for some elementary level classes to participate globally in an interdisciplinary project to include art, music, literature, and nutrition. Let me know if anyone is interested. Alex, maybe you could talk with your primary grade teachers for me. I am working with a few other teachers to create the project now. They would just need to participate or add ideas now.
Thanks, Teri
I'm interested, although I know it's not March anymore. I am training a few hundred primary teachers in a couple weeks and would certainly be able to interest a few for a collaborative project or two. let me know. Erik
Hi Alex,
I am about to start a wiki project with 3 other classes (I am in Maine, we have a class in CA, one in GA and another in SouthAustralia) - our students are 10 - 12 years old. The purpose is communication and expansion of classroom walls.
We would like to have classes from other parts of the world.
If you - or others are interested, let me know.
The wiki is up, but not yet active: Classroom Braids
