We are nearing the end of the year in my first grade classroom and it's time for review, remediation, and advancement. Today we did a quick activity to review time on our iwb during math time. I used an activity on www.abcya.com for review. I put the girls against the boys because that always makes it more interesting.

About half way through while the girls are cheering their teammate on and the boys are watching hoping she gets her answer wrong one of my students looks at me and asks, "When are we going to do math?"

For a second I did not know how to respond. Finally, after about five seconds, I answered, "We have been doing math." He looked at at me and with all sincerity he said, "Na ah!"

It's amazing how much fun kids can have while they are learning. I love these moments when I can see them show what they have been taught and have fun doing it!
