About Me
I've been teaching for 15 years the last 10 of which have been as a middle school computer teacher. This year I'm branching out with a program administrator internship with the Ed. Tech Dept. at Evergreen. I have been aware of Web 2.0 applications for several years, but never felt the desire or need to go beyond what I've already been doing in the lab. After stumbling across Classroom 2.0 while doing some research for my internship, I see I've got to get on board.

A quick note about my videos. I have not created any of them. They are just ones that I have found useful.

I liked your comment on Madeline's page, that she wasn't real, and the picture was classic. Would you like to be my colleague?

Dear Kutkey, Thank you for posting the needs. I'm really grateful to you. Plz. mail me more info to find out to get support for our school for our lovely innocent children. School year h ere starts in Mid April, I'm afraid there will be high dropout rate. If we could get support (confirmation) from anyone /agency to let the children continue their primary education within this month, they'd not leave the school. I hope there'll be way where there's will.

I haven't created an online newspaper, but I think it would work quite well. I have had several groups of students create a 'how to' site on using a program called RPG Maker.  I am on the Plus Plan which allows for no ads and a…

I have created a Facebook group to help a fellow Classroom 2.0 teacher in Nepal. His name is Govinda Panthy. I have never attempted anything like this before. If you have any suggestions, please help.

Okay - Right now I'm at the above workshop at the NCCE Conference. It's been put together by Becky Firth and Kathy Dorr. Check out their wiki at http://techteachingtools.pbwiki.com

Anyway - I thought I would make a link here of all the sites they're sharing so I could easily access it later.

Asimov's 'The Fun They Had' - How much longer and how do we avoid the pitfalls?

Posted on December 16, 2008 at 7:50pm 1 Comment

I remember reading The Fun They Had in the 6th grade and thinking how fantastic and unreal it seemed. Having just re-read it (do it; it'll take you less than 3 minutes) I'd say Asimov was right on the money, what with all the talk of singularity and this Web 2.0 stuff. But he was off a hundred and fifty years or so in just how long it would take for computers to… Continue
