About Me
I am the Math/Science Coordinator for Chapel HIll-Carrboro City Schools. I have taught kindergarten through post-secondary. I have two fabulous children who both enjoy school and play college sports. My husband is a network analyst and spurred my interest in technology and supported/guided me as I tried new strategies for instruction.

I had the opportunity to work with students, teachers, and national park rangers in Uganda. We still keep in touch through email. Technology is coming alive in less affluent worlds as fast as the technology is changing so, students really are connected worldwide...

New learning...

Posted on July 24, 2007 at 8:11pm 1 Comment

I work with Tracy Weeks in Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. Tracy issued an invitation to our department to dive into this new technology and gather information about how students engage with changing technologies. As a curriculum specialist, I feel it is important to experience the world of our students so I can guide teachers to provide learning situations that are real for our students. I appreciate having colleagues that are willing to join in the research.

Hi Darlene. I was wondering if your students would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. If not, perhaps you have some educator contacts you could direct me to. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
