Action Plans for Policy Change

I'm teaching an online, continuing ed (2 credits) course for Mesa State College. It is open enrollment. One of the assignments is to write an action plan for addressing policy in your school or district using the material and suggestions in the book, "Teaching Generation Text." I have had a really hard time finding someone to interview that has used cell phones as a tool in the classroom. This assignment is now due this weekend. I would really appreciate it if you wouldn't mind answering a few questions. It doesn't have to be lengthy answers.

1. Give an overview of the assignment used.

2. What grade level/subject do you teach, and at what school?

3. What is the school/district policy of cell phone use in the classroom?
Did you have to get special permission?

4. How did the parents react?

5. What type of challenges did you face, including technical challenges?

6. Do you have any suggestions for other teachers who want to implement the use of cell phones in their classrooms?
