How do students and teachers feel about using cell phones for learning?

As educators we often make decisions for students without ever getting their feedback. Have you ever wondered how students feel about using cell phones in school? I have and I am interested in connecting with students to find out how they feel about using cell phones for learning. I've developed a survey for students to complete to get at some answers and I'd love for innovative educators to share it with their students. I'll use this information to share with others via blog posts, magazine…See More

Hi Willyn,

I heard your voicemail. Can you please email me at lnielsen.professional@gmail.com with some details about the book? Because I work for the NYC DOE one thing I need to be concerned about is that I likely couldn't accept proceeds, but would want any donated to Donor's Choose under my name, the other issue, is I would need to get approval.

Anyhow, I'm definitely interested, so shot me an overview and we'll schedule a time to talk soon.

I am working on an assignment for a graduate class. I have had a really hard time finding someone to interview that has used cell phones as a tool in the classroom. This assignment is now due this weekend. I would really appreciate it if you wouldn't mind answering a few questions. It doesn't have to be lengthy answers.

1. Give an overview of the assignment used.

2. What grade level/subject do you teach, and at what school?

3. What is the school/district policy of cell phone use in the classroom?
Did you have to get special permission?

4. How did the parents react?

5. What type of challenges did you face, including technical challenges?

6. Do you have any suggestions for other teachers who want to implement the use of cell phones in their classrooms?

Sincerely,

Tammie Hall
