I have been in the field of education for over 30 years and hold a bacheors's degree in Elementary and Special Education, a Master's in Curriculum Development and a Master's in Administration.
My educational experiences include 15 years in an elementary school teaching a multi-grade 1-3, 7 years working with elementary medically fragile, multi-handicapped children, 4 years as early intervention education specialist, 3 years developing and running an alternative program for middle school children, 3 years as out -of-district case manager and elementary special education teacher.
These various experiences lead me to develop Mistacres School, a private K-8 school in New Hampshire. At this time I began to move from text books and packaged virtual programs to using Open Educational Resources.
In June of 2012 I founded Next Generation Global Education, a non-profit organization that is networking OER to strengthen their presence in education while collaborating with educators from around the world to design the foundation of a global curriculum. I also works with children in Africa who are successfully sharing learning experiences with New Hampshire and beyond. With other schools in Africa, Pakistan, India, Italy ready to join, it is my hope to continue connecting the world together through education.
