I'm currently teaching Year 7 & 8 English and Year 8 beginners' Chinese at The Geelong College, a private school in Geelong, Victoria, Australia.
I'm interested in dramatically increasing the use of technology in both my English and Chinese classes, in order to make my teaching relevant to the current lifestyles of my students. I'm hoping to learn new ways to do this and connect my students with other students around the globe.

Tracie, how about the book set in New Zealand, The Whale Rider, do you know it? I'd like to get my English students in touch with some kiwis via wiki. Any advice?
Tracie, if you take a look at what my students are doing, you'll see we're just beginning to construct a knowledge base on English topics: Popular Literature, Speech, and English for 10th graders. We're at http://wiki-land.wikispaces.com
It would be very cool to collaborate w/students "down under." : )

Hello Tracie! Welcome to Classroom 2.0. Hope you can find your way around easily enough :-)
How's Chinese going for you this year? I'm heading to China for 6 weeks with 20 kids in Sept - all funded by the Dept. Quite amazing!
Hope all is well. Maybe we can get that email contact happening this term after all?
See ya!
