- I work at a large public high school in southern California. I support the campus with tech support, including software, hardware, network, and web publishing. I'm also developing my own software for the tech dept using FOSS tools like LAMP (Linux, Apache, PHP, and MySQL) on the server and Ubuntu on the desktop.

I worked in Corp America for many years before landing in K-12 Education.
As you know K-12 is very unique. We have to serve Teachers, Students and Staff with open architecture, cutting edge Technology, low budgets and still be compliant with FERPA, CIPA and any and all applicable State and Federal laws designed to protect children and all confidential data.
I'm always looking for the Win Win! I believe this only happens when IT works close with teachers and staff to achieve the best balanced solutions to benefit the business of Education!
I also believe, as Technology experts we need to always be learning more about the business of Education, and Educators also need to learn the benefits of Technology as well as the risk it often introduces to any business.
