Hi Sally: Welcome to the new age. Skype is great, free easy to use and has a lot of features including video chat and the ability to for example conduct an interview and record it for future use. But Skype is only one of hundreds of tools available. Check out Jane's web site below. She also has a "Learning Pick of the Day" feed that has given me dozens of ideas and tools.
Hi Sally and welcome. If you look above the Comment Wall in the Discussions, you'll find a list of people who have shared their Twitter accounts with other "mashers". Some members also share this on their CR2.0 profile pages. I can't say I know a lot about Skype. I just started to use it for free online conversations with a few people in the US. Our district blocks it. Here's a list of the many CR2.0 discussions with Skype as a topic -- http://www.google.com/cse?cx=006233676488560939137%3Amoxoolb0wru&ie=UTF-8&q=skype&sa=Search. Perhaps you'll find some of the information you're looking for or another CR2.0 member to send a message to in one of those old discussions.
