We decided on Google Apps this summer and have been using it all year in grades 5-12. It has been very successful. Docs are easily the most used app in our school. We are also 1:1 and the students use collaborative writing and file sharing all of…

Google Apps vs Window Live

We are an 1:1 lap top school. Our students don't have a school email account and they can't save on the server. We are looking for the best "cloud" option. I have been reading many things on Google apps for education and Window Live and now, I'm a bit confused! What is your opinion ? Are you using one or the other at your school ?See More

For reports I have students turn in word files, and I turn "track changes" on and do the markup there, then return the files to them.

Who is using Markin ? One line tools to edit and annotate students production

I would like to know if anyone use Markin ? If so, how to you like it ?Markin is a Windows program which runs on the teacher's computer. It can import a student's text for marking by pasting from the clipboard, or directly from a document file. Once the text has been imported, Markin provides a comprehensive set of tools enabling the teacher to mark and annotate the text.See More

You can add different classes into Edmodo and give kids varying levels of access.   For example, you could have "Class 1," where all the kids in your class discuss among themselves. Then you could have "Class 2," where all…

I really like the user friendly idea of TypeWithMe. I do have a concern that this might not be the best thing for a class though, or at least for young students. Since the site is a public domain and not secure anyone can make comments on the page…

I looked into Edmodo because I have never heard of it before. This looks like a nice tool for students and teachers to use in the classroom. I like that it is a secure site and that it was specifically made for school. This tool makes it safe for…
