Web Resources

I've been continually searching for web resources to help make class more engaging. Using blogs, twitter, movie makers like xtranormal.com, or animasher.com are just a few examples of programs that I would encourage to use in the classroom. I want to find more resources, and I feel like its a slow process of finding a resource hidden here or there. I need help finding more!

Grades tend to reduce students’ interest in the learning itself.  One of the most well-researched findings in the field of motivational psychology is that the more people are rewarded for doing something, the more they tend to lose interest in whatever they had to do to get the reward

Grades tend to reduce the quality of students’ thinking.  Given that students may lose interest in what they’re learning as a result of grades, it makes sense that they’re also apt to think… Continue

Why isn't learning an obligation of schools?

Posted on March 7, 2011 at 4:14pm 0 Comments

In Canada, education statutes talk about the right to attend schools, not the right to receive an education. What this implies is that schools do not have a legal obligation to ensure that students benefit from attending.
