Don't hold your breath for a "Ninglette." The problem is not whether the "Ning" is public or private, it's about collecting personal data on children under 13. To comply with the law, they would have to get verifiable…

Hi, Marcia! I'm always trying to introduce new tools to keep children motivated and able to develop more language, since I teach Spanish to very young ones. Sometimes I find quite difficult to use certain tools, I thought ning will be great,…

I agree, after reading and searching I decided to go old fashion, using and internal forum where children can write and it is not public.

I did! I am using a basic forum with my young students. It is not perfect but worked very well.

Hi, Marcela, This is a frequent request. And Steve never tires of answering it :) .... I had the same question not so long ago when I was doing a flat classroom project. I teach middle school and so had mostly under 13eens. Although NIng is still…

Marcela, it is so important to have good solid reasons to use any tool, tech or not. Ning doesn't do anything that can't be done with a blog and Moodle. It's our job to provide the instruction, guidance, but most importantly keep the…

Hi Marcela,

With your interest in Technology for Spanish Education, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording conducted by Nellie Deutsch on Technology Integration.

¡Hola!
Eduardo
