I have just purchased a pen to use with high school students and very much appreciate all the comments here. Did you know that you can photocopy a blank livescribe notebook page and it works just as well? I am interested in how the pen might be…

Ways to View Video in the Classroom

Cross-posted at The WebFooted Booklady.A tweet requesting some ideas for engaging students during video screenings in class got me thinking. As I couldn't cram it all into 140 characters I responded on my blog:- Show the video with no sound or with sound but no picture. Ask students to tell what they have understood and what questions they have. Show the video again with both sound and visuals and have them complete their summary.- Show the video without sound and have students write the script…See More

Sue, thanks so very much for the link to the podcast and your comments. We too are struggling in our district to promote the idea that we are all on the same team and that the IT techs should be enabling teachers rather than setting limits. I was at…

Hi Lesley -- we even have sun in foggy South Surrey today. Welcome to Canadians Mashup -- but I think there's one more step:

Click on Sue Hellman above this message to navigate to my page. Part way down on the left is a Canadian map under My Groups. If you click on that and then look beneath the main banner (right of center) on the group page, you should see + Join this Group. Click and that should do it.

Hi Lesley -- I'd like to invite you to join a Classroom 2.0 group called Canadians Mashup. I'm trying to build a network of Canadian educators and bloggers. No discussions yet. I'm just starting out by trying to find where everyone lives and what they teach. If you're interested, please add me as a colleague as well.

Where in BC are you? Are you under snow like we are?
