About Me
I am Centre Manager of WBL centre teaching 14-25 year olds. We focus on skills for life and vocational skills to enhance student chances of progressing into further education, training, or employment.

Rathbone - our work

We are a charitable organisation based in the centre of Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. We work with students between the ages of 14-25 and offer various educational opportunities.
- Learning Agreement Trial (employed young people, learning whilst employed - SfL, vocational skills)
- Apprenticeship/Advanced Apprenticeship (in childcare - offering a L2/L3 apprenticeship qualification - includes NVQ, Technical Certificate, Key Skills in AON & Comms, Paediatric 1st Aid, and Employment Rights & Responsibilities)
- e2e (entry to employment - students not sure what they want to do with their lives - SfL, Personal, Social, Economic, progressing to vocational skills)
- Pre-16 programme (Year 10/11 students working towards a vocational qualification - childcare - with a view to progressing onto Apprenticeship or Advanced Apprenticeship when they leave school).

Well - I am just having to retype everything because I lost my original version so - here we go.....



Is it me? What are all these nings, blogs, pod-casts etc. I thought I was computer literate but I find I am having to drag myself into the 21st century in order to keep up with the young people I work with. I'm so sorry for your foot Karen. Last August, I broke my arm and I know how it feels. Hope you get well very soon.
I'm glad to hear that our video will be seen by your students. The term ended today and I'll meet again with my students in September. So, more videos will be on the way in the next academic year! :)
