Here's my blog post I wrote about the pros and cons of my experiences using the iPad as a student. The same issues would apply for K12. http://blogs.edweek.org/teachers/leading_from_the_classroom/

I'm looking for a third grade class to skype with from Alaska as we read the story of Balto. We are in Honolulu so time zones wouldn't be a problem. We can share what it's like to live in a tropical area.

JoAnn,
I see that you are looking for schools to coordinate some projects with. I was wondering if you have any classrooms in your school that would enjoy read alouds through Skype. I am a Reading Specialist that is staying home currently with my little ones and currently tutoring students in reading online. I am building connections around the world via Web 2.0.
Sincerely,
Joanne
