I haven't actually read The Hunger Games but I heard it was pretty good. My brother is in the eighth grade right now and he loves that book. He's been waiting for the third one to come out for months now. From what I've heard, it…
I work with a 5th grader who does not like to do her homework and never does any more work then she is required to do, but when it comes to this book series she read them constantly for weeks! This was a big accomplishment for her to voluntarily…
well you have to see how strong of a reader all your students are and what is considered appropriate. I would consider the scarlet letter or Aminal farm. however, how about asking them what the majority is interested in, because if the reader is…
We are thinking of implementing a new schedule in 2011-12 for seniors where they will go to 3 classes for 90 minutes a day. They would take 6 classes but 3 would meet Monday - Wednesday and 3 Tuesday- Thursday. Of course they would also meet on Fridays. Kind of like a year round block schedule.Trying to prepare them for what they might see in college.Question- Do you know of somebody who already has experience with this? Trying to learn from others.ThanksSee More

Hi Gerry! I read about the workshop you are preparing! good luck!
Let me tell you a bit about me. I am from Argentina, where I have carried out some research that showed a very small percent of secondary school teachers make actual use of the Internet in for their practices. I will also be giving a talk next february to share ideas and resources with many colleagues who do not even know about web 2.0. I participate of classroom 2.0 but would like to start my own network so as to show my colleagues here what one can do whith sites like NIng(and also as a personal challenge!) If you could please join me at
http://teach-with-internet.ning.com/
and probably invite some of your colleagues, too. It would be very helful to start making the network grow!
Thanks a lot.
Paula
