I am wondering about using a web tool to store my teaching portfolio. It would be great to hear from others who are going paperless for their professional portfolios.

I recently took an electronic portfolio class. We used Wikispaces. Check out my portfolio. I think you need to sign up for Wikispaces to view the portfolio. It’s free.

Most Valuable Teaching Tool?

Thumbnail
With budget cuts and limited funds for ordering supplies for next year, I am reflecting on the classroom tools I value the most. For me, I am thinking it's the chart paper I order each year, because my daily writing demonstrations are a HUGE part of our reading/writing curriculum. I also love our school's subscription to http://www.readinga-z.com/. It helps me locate supplementary reading and word building activities for my first graders.I'm curious to…See More

I find it more helpful to teach elements of fiction during chapter book read aloud time. Since their listening comprehension abilities are way ahead of their reading comprehension, I am able to use better literature that they wouldn't be able…

I think this is a great idea - if for no other reason that it provides a central location to keep track of one's (developing) professional skills. Plus, you never know when it might help you land your dream job (this is what happened to me - I…

I have just been introduced to the idea of eportfolios myself and found that a website recommended to me, Dr. Helen Barrett's Electronic Porfolio ,to be helpful. I have just begun an eportfolio and have used Google sites. So far, so good.

My first grade class uses laptop computers approximately once a week to play online games related to our current learning. Because navigating to web sites is a huge challenge for little kiddos, I created a google site to use for easy links to the…

Hi Diana! I'm busy reading through all of my notes -- last week's class has given me extra energy and excitement -- an absolute NECESSITY at the High School level! It is amazing how even High School students respond to "What have you learned today?"

Hi Diana!
I enjoyed reading the comments on your blog. Now I know the kind of dog you were talking about. How sweet! How is your class going this week? At Trinity we are wildly busy getting ready for the operetta. Remember those days? We also have our project for National Lutheran Schools week. I am wanting to have the students create a power point and embed a part of their speech in it. We will see how that goes. Dean is helping me learn how to embed (spelling) into power point.
