About Me
Currently, I'm a PhD student at the Second Language Acquisition and Instructional Technology at the University of South Florida. I'm originally from Turkey. I taught English at the college level for 7 years in Turkey. I came to the USA in August 2007, and since then I have been teaching English in the English Language Institute at USF. My research interests include teacher learning and development, communities of practice, and TPACK.

Did you know that the NCTE convention will be in Orlando in November 2010? The deadline to submit a presentation is Jan. 12. Check out the types of sessions: www.ncte.org.

Hi, Derya, Will you attend FETC in Orlando in mid-January? www.fetc.org

If so, I'd love to meet you and hear more about what you are learning in your program. I led development of an educational product for ESL students in Florida in the 1990s....really before there was much online. I'm now working for an online company, and we have a lot of classrooms in Turkey who are participating. Many of them want to learn English, too.
Best wishes, Rita
